Capture the energy of spring

Posted on the 21/03/2023 by Karndean Designflooring

As the clocks jump forward and our gardens burst into life under spring’s reaffirming sunshine and rain, we’re ready to cast off the mental fog of winter and embrace the energising spring light.

Updating our homes with cheerful springtime colours brings all the happiness and positivity of the season into our daily lives so it’s no surprise that the latest trends feature warm neutral colour palettes, crisp pastels and layered playful patterns such as checks and stripes.

To get this optimistic vibe in your home, our top tip is to combine light and airy colours with natural materials then add plenty of greenery with houseplants and cherished mementos that tell your personal story.

Here are five of our favourite floors that are sure to complement the clean fresh colours of spring to perfection:

1. Prairie Oak

Prairie Oak presents a beautiful array of pale earthy browns with a highly realistic grain pattern and a handscraped embossed surface that’s irresistibly tactile. Laid in either an on-trend herringbone pattern or a traditional ‘floorboard’ effect and paired with cool whites or warm neutral colours, Prairie Oak is guaranteed to give your home the wow factor.

2. Antique Timber

For an authentic look of rustic oak floorboards that will transform your home into a dreamy country cottage, you can’t go wrong with Antique Timber with its natural brown tones and interesting knot and grain details. Perfect to add warmth to any springtime space, the loose lay format also means that this is a floor that’s easy to install and comes with additional noise reducing benefits.

3. Glacial Marble

Nothing will bring a sense of indulgence to your home like marble. With our marble designs, you can get this luxe look without the expense or ongoing maintenance. Glacial Marble is a classic Carrara marble design with a clean white surface and interesting grey and gold broken veining that will look a million dollars alongside romantic pastel shades such as lavender, cherry blossom or aquamarine.

Natural Stone has a warm neutral colour that will complement the latest pale earthy browns or warm greys, with its smooth basalt style and sprinkling of volcanic ash specks. A clean and versatile design, these rectangular tiles can be laid in a choice of patterns including brick and herringbone.
