Introducing new patterned tile

Posted on the 25/04/2019 by Karndean Designflooring

We are pleased to introduce two eye-catching designs to our Kaleidoscope collection. The new tiles, Casablanca and Marrakesh, were inspired by the artistic techniques of traditional Moroccan architecture and medieval Spanish architecture.

One creative design, available in two subtle yet striking colourways, offers a modern interpretation of these iconic patterns with a non-uniform, patchwork arrangement that incorporates a stylish combination of geometric forms, curves and crests.

Casablanca shows off this quirky design in a monochrome palette of grey shades to create a contemporary statement while Marrakesh uses a mix of natural earthy colour tones for a warmer, more playful look.

Both colourways are ideal for today’s interiors, where their eclectic style will effortlessly add character and interest to an all-white scheme. Alternatively, selecting one of Casablanca’s on-trend grey shades for walls, furniture and fittings will create a modern take on a monochromatic design.

Marrakesh can be paired with rich warm wood tones, natural textures and terracotta shades, such as Dulux’s colour of the year Spiced Honey, for an interior filled with rustic Spanish charm.

Stella Coyle, national retail sales manager said, “We are delighted to bring to the market two innovative designs that will allow home decorators to incorporate an unexpected flooring feature into their interiors.

“Our designers were inspired by medieval Spanish architecture, such as the Alhambra Palace in Grenada, and have created a contemporary interpretation of these Moorish patterns, available in two beautiful colourways. Ideal for the modern home, Casablanca and Marrakesh can be laid as a ‘rug effect’, as a statement zone within a large open plan space or as a full floor to create a real wow feature.”
