New project: creating elegant interiors for Moxhull Hall

New project: creating elegant interiors for Moxhull Hall

Posted on the 22/07/2020 by Karndean Designflooring

The owners of Moxhull Hall, an exclusive hotel and wedding venue set in open countryside near Sutton Coldfield, commissioned Sacha Dunnett of Sacha Interiors to update the beautiful Victorian manor house with a contemporary romantic interior that would combine opulence with practicality.

Providing an elegant historic feel that complements the beauty of the surrounding landscaped gardens, the new interior would offer couples a sophisticated wedding location with the flexibility to add their own personal touches and reflect their individuality.

Outlining the design concept, Sacha Dunnett said: “The space needed to be impactful yet flexible and durable. It was important that the ceremony hall was romantic yet also neutral enough for wedding guests to put their own stamp on.”

Her design has brought an understated yet timelessly elegant look to the ceremony hall with a neutral colour scheme, while the adjoining garden room features a more individual look with a bold botanical theme. The pared back palette and characterful features of the new interior enhances the sophisticated venue and guides guests gracefully through their stay from daytime ceremony to evening celebrations.

In the spacious ceremony hall which is flooded with natural light, warm neutral shades on walls and flooring combine to give an open and fresh feel that complements the rich period wood panelling. Sumptuous pelmets and drapes add an opulent feel while fresh white furniture and table cloths provide a romantic look that can be easily adapted to each wedding party’s colour theme.

In the adjoining garden room, a spectacular botanical mural has been paired with a dramatic flooring design to create a guest space that looks equally amazing at any time of the day or night. The geometric tiles of the Kaleidoscope Pennon floor have been laid in subtle tones of grey to cleverly coordinate with the monochrome wall mural, adding interest without competing for attention.

Sacha explained: “The floor was central to the design in all areas. Using Karndean flooring has enabled us to provide a seamless transition from a neutral wood design floor in the main hall to a dramatic geometric pattern in the garden room without a change of levels. We knew that the durability and easy maintenance of the product would be ideal for this hospitality setting. The owners are delighted with the results and have received very positive feedback from guests.”
