Color Series: Golden Blond

Karndean Designflooring

Lighter wood floors with golden blond hues have always maintained a high level of popularity. Their warmth brings coziness to a space and the lighter wood effect carries an element of nature and character in the home.

What’s great about selecting a lighter wood floor is that there are many color options that will complement a blond shade.

White and Golden Blond

White is a simple yet effective pairing for a golden blond floor. This neutral combination allows you to team it with almost any other color of the rainbow. The key to doing so is to manage the color proportions.

To emphasise the natural hue of the wood, use a palette that is heavier on the white with pops of your chosen accent colors on smaller items like soft furnishings or wall artwork. If you're looking to draw the eye to a particular color scheme, pull back on the white, using it only to provide a bit of aesthetic relief to the overall décor.

Charcoal and Golden Blond

For a bolder color scheme, try a charcoal and blond combination. The dramatic and contrasting color pairing will pick up the yellow undertones of the wood floor and provide a stylish yet striking look.

Natural finishes and Golden Blond

Pairing a golden blond floor also works well with other natural finishes like brick, steel and other wood textures. The exposed materials provide a contrast to the warm honey tones that can be both striking and inviting - think modern industrial with a warming edge.
