Our commercial team is hard at work preparing for one of the largest trade shows of the year, NeoCon, which takes place at Chicago's Merchandise Mart from June 12-14. Now in its 49th year, NeoCon has become one of the most recognized and attended trade shows in the interior design industry. If you are one of the 50,000 design professionals expected to attend this year's show, you can expect exciting new product introductions from Karndean Designflooring to inspire your next big project.
Guests will see our full gluedown offering and learn about how Designflooring can enhance any commercial environment. “Our components system allows commercial designers the freedom to make any design imaginable a reality,” CEO Larry Browder said. “These components may be used to highlight entranceways and reception areas, create pathways to facilitate employee, patient or student flow, and zone areas of an open space based on function.”
Pushing the boundaries of Designflooring one step further is our Kaleidoscope collection, which features modular, compatible designs in six geometric forms. Kaleidoscope is a 2016 Good Design award-winner and a finalist in the 2017 Hospitality Design Product Awards.
Interactive kiosks throughout the booth will allow designers to experiment with Designflooring using the company’s digital Floorstyle design tool, while surrounding columns displaying blended products, inlays, and commercial installations aim to inspire creativity.
Debuting at NeoCon are our two newest floating floors, LooseLay Longboard and Korlok, designed for quick and easy installation in environments where there is little downtime. LooseLay Longboard’s 59” long planks are ideal for remodeling existing spaces, as they can be laid over existing tile, LVT and VCT; and are anchored in place by Karndean Designflooring’s K-Wave friction grip backing. Making the most of its 59” length, each of the 12 designs displays the intricate details found in the woods that inspired the collection, including Oak, Heart Pine, Walnut and Spotted Gum.
Korlok, our new rigid core locking floor, features proprietary K-Core technology, providing superior dimensional stability for installation over most existing and imperfect subfloors, and meets the ASTM standard for indentation resistance. Korlok’s 12 woods were developed with a goal of creating a palette of colors that includes both natural colors and colors that nature cannot produce in designs inspired by woods that would be cost prohibitive for most projects in their natural state.
