When it comes to finding style ideas for our own homes, there’s no better inspiration than other people’s homes. We love seeing how home designers have chosen to style their interiors, learning where they found inspiration and how their designs came together, so this month we have launched a new section on our website where we will share our home designers’ inspirational stories.
Working with home designers who have given their homes a fresh new look with Karndean flooring, our Home Design Inspiration site will offer plenty of case studies to inform and delight, helping you transform your own space into your dream home.
Featuring beautiful rooms, from soothing neutral tones to vibrant colours and bold features with intricate floor laying patterns, our first guest designers - Cara, Anna, Hannah and Jasmine - have shared their decoration journeys and the stunning end results.
Cara explains how she has created a relaxing yet practical family space with a muted palette of greys and blues, warmed with highlights in pastel pink. The honey tones of Pale Limed Oak flooring from our Knight Tile collection, laid in herringbone pattern, add interest and richness to the design as well as providing a hard wearing surface that effortlessly copes with busy family life.
Using another herringbone design from our popular Knight Tile collection, Hannah has paired the cool sun-bleached looks of Lime Washed Oak with a soft neutral palette throughout the ground floor of her home to give a sense of flow and space. To give depth and a sense of fun to the scheme, she has introduced pops of bolder shades in navy, cerise and gold.
Jasmine has chosen a cool, chalky washed oak design flooring to complement the neutral colour palette of her sitting room and has laid the full sized planks in a bold herringbone pattern. She has paired the light airy tones of the Ashland floor with comfy seating, bold black accents and geometric elements. In her story Jasmine talks about how she created her characterful DIY floor with our easy-fit LooseLay collection.
The inspiration for Anna’s bedroom came from a stunning oriental wall mural. The Chinese silk wallpaper takes centre stage behind a large wooden bed and is paired with a pale neutral shade on the walls. Completing the look, the deep rich brown tones and authentic distressed look of Hickory Peppercorn flooring from our Art Select Handcrafted range introduce a hint of rustic barn style.
Over the coming months we’ll be adding more home designer stories, so don’t forget to come back and revisit our Home Design Inspiration site for more beautiful spaces and decorating ideas you can use in your home.
