One of the biggest events in the interiors calendar, this year’s Ideal Home Show at Olympia certainly lived up to expectations, with a host of live expert talks and demonstrations and a wealth of inspiration to help everyone develop their own individual style.
If you attended the show you may have spotted some of our stunning flooring designs in the show home, The Evolving Home, and the Good Homes roomsets.
Here are some of our own favourite highlights from the show.

The Evolving Home
The showhome is always the spectacular centrepiece of the show, and this year certainly didn’t disappoint. The Evolving Home was designed as an innovative modular home which can adapt with the changing needs of a multi-generational family.
The concept home flowed to maximise family interactions; from the practical kitchen, featuring a central work station and statement floor in our Kaleidoscope Cubix pattern, into the sociable dining space with large table and bi-fold doors that allow free movement to an outdoors entertaining space, the home then seamlessly flowed into a cosy living room in an on-trend colour scheme of grey, blush pink and baby blue, completed with the light airy tones of our Texas White Ash flooring.
The Evolving Home, children’s bedroom and family bathroom
Upstairs, a more playful design delighted visitors, including a vibrant pink and white colour scheme in the family bathroom that was carried through to the children’s bedroom. This space encouraged us to think again about how we use wallpaper, with a colourful geometric print on the ceiling balanced by white walls and bold furnishings.

Good Homes Roomsets
This year the Good Homes roomsets were inspired by our royal family and featured the very best of British design and manufacturing.
Six avant garde rooms, designed by interior stylist Simone Gordon of Owl Design, demonstrated how home decorators can incorporate current trends into their homes, from Pantone’s colour of the year to the latest bold shades and curated collections of maximalism.
The Queen’s bedroom, pictured top, presented a quintessentially British style with a combination of classic floral patterns in easy to live with shades of blue and green. We particularly loved how the designer brought the room right up to date by installing our Spring Oak flooring at a 45-degree angle and adding bold accessories such as tasselled bedside lights in contrasting deep red.
Prince Charles and Camilla’s living room combined peacock shades, bold oversized patterns and a carefully curated mix and match collection of artwork and soft furnishings, reminiscent of 1970s geometric style. The warm antique tones of the Antique French Oak flooring gave the scheme depth to balance out the brave colour scheme. We were particularly drawn to the oversized metallic tropical palm floor lamp that gave the room a contemporary twist.
Prince Harry and Meghan’s kitchen diner featuring Art Select Mountain Oak SM-RL22
The stunning kitchen diner inspired by Prince Harry and Meghan’s Hollywood lifestyle successfully offered a stylish way to incorporate Pantone’s colour of the year, Living Coral, and the trend for blush pink and metallic accents. The striking diagonal design of our Mountain Oak parquet flooring was selected to give an earthy neutral base that grounds and balances the vibrant colours.
The best of the rest
Bold colour schemes in rich dark tones were very much at the fore this year at the show, influenced by the increasing popularity of maximalism, such as this kitchen diner roomset by Good Homes featuring deep blue wall tiles laid in herringbone pattern and a feature ‘jungle’ wallpaper, or this navy and grey nook designed by Abigail Aherne for Hillarys.
