Our Culture

As a family business, we also treat our employees like family - the Karndean family. Our employees work towards our four company values:

Karndean Values

  • People Matter – Empowered people are at the heart of Karndean. We trust each other and recognise achievement. Our employees go home at the end of day feeling that they have added true value, achieved something important and have been recognised.
  • Deliver the Promise - We behave with integrity and commit to our customers, our goals and the team. We each play a part in our shared success. We know what is expected of us. Teams are encouraged to accept responsibility and accountability. We always seek to do what we say are going to do.
  • Pioneering Spirit - We encourage bravery and creative thinking. It built Karndean and will define our future. New ideas from team members are very much welcomed. We are taught to challenge the status quo and think through the implications of the changes we put forward. We foster a “no blame” culture, to help the Company to move to a higher risk / higher reward culture.
  • Positive Energy - Our business is fuelled by dynamism, drive and an enthusiastic, with a strong ‘can-do’ attitude. We all lead by example, all “Living” the high-paced day and empowering our employees to show their own energy and to have fun.

We recognise those employees who work hard and excel in our company values via an employee of the month competition where employees can nominate their colleagues within the business.

Karndean Culture

As well as rewarding our employees, we also work with local charities by hosting and taking part in multiple fundraising events.

Karndean Golf Day 2018

We host an annual charity golf day for our customers and suppliers and in 2018 chose three charities: Cheltenham and Gloucester Hospitals, Epilepsy Action and Vale of Evesham School. Two of these charities are local to Karndean Designflooring's Showroom in Evesham.

In addition to golf, there was also a raffle and auction with prizes including hospitality tickets to an Aston Villa Football Club home game, VIP tickets to a British Touring Car Championship event and tickets to watch the England rugby team at Twickenham Stadium. Throughout the day we managed to raise a total of £11,000 which has been split out and donated to our named charities.

Worcester Stands Tall

We were thrilled to take part in the Worcester Stands Tall public art trail which was organised by St Richards Hospice and featured 57 giraffes of differing sizes forming a six mile trail around Worcester city centre, all donated and decorated by individual companies. Our design "Deco" was created by Susan Webber, who spent more than 180 hours at our Evesham showroom painting and lacquering Deco to showcase our exciting Kaleidoscope collection.
