C&C Flooring consider good quality customer service to be of upmost importance and we couldn’t agree more. From small offices to hospitals and factories, the Worcestershire-based contractors provide a design and installation service for all types of commercial premises. Director Roo Williams shares why it’s important to go that extra mile and why Karndean Looselay is the “perfect product” for many commercial environments.
How long have you been in this profession and what led you to it?
I decided to take a break from a career in recruitment when a friend of the family asked me to be sales manager for his flooring contracting company 15 years ago. We started our company ten years ago and we haven’t looked back since.
What sets you apart from your competitors?
We’re all about providing the best service and we treat our customers like royalty. From the first meeting, right through to the handover of any project, our team ensures that the entire process is completely smooth. Our teams of fitters ensure their handiwork is nothing short of perfect.
Why did you choose to partner with Karndean?
Firstly, the range of products is second to none.
We have worked with Karndean from the early days and we’ve certainly noticed the benefits. We happily recommend Karndean products to our customers and in return, because of the strong relationships we’ve formed throughout the partnership, many customers looking for a contractor are sent in our direction.
Could you tell us about a few of your recent projects that have involved Karndean?
We install Karndean flooring for a lot of commercial projects throughout the UK, but a couple of projects spring to mind. Firstly, Mappleborough Green Garden Centre (pictured below) – we installed 1,200m² of Karndean Looselay and some Van Gogh. I’m always impressed by how quick the installation process for Karndean LooseLay is, plus it’s suitable with underfloor heating and for gaining access to underfloor services. Likewise, we have installed Karndean LooseLay for several DIY SOS projects and, when time is critical, it’s brilliant that we could install up to 100m² of LooseLay within an hour if necessary – this makes it the perfect product in my opinion.

What flooring questions are you asked most often by customers and how do you respond?
The question we’re asked most often by customers is why should they use our company and not one of our competitors. Our answer is that we are extremely good at what we do, you get your money’s worth and we honour our guarantees. We get a lot of recommendations by worldwide manufacturers which is a great compliment.
What are the most important questions you need to ask your customers at the beginning of a project?
We always want to deliver a project that the customer is proud of, so we ask them what their vision is and then we figure out together how we can create a building that will inspire and motivate those who use it.
What floor trends are you currently seeing?
Customers want something unique when buying LVT – they want something that will make their buildings stand out from the crowd.
What’s been your favourite project to date?
Mappleborough Green Garden Centre (pictured below). The reason for this is when we were handed the project we were faced with so many complications with the subfloor and we had a tight schedule to adhere to, however our team worked around the clock and delivered a project of which both the owner and we are very proud.

How would you describe Karndean to your colleagues?
Karndean are the leaders in LVT in our opinion. They have a fantastic showroom with all available products on display and finding exactly what you want is straightforward.
