What is loose lay?

Loose lay is a format of luxury vinyl flooring featuring K-Wave which is our unique friction grip backing that holds the product in place. It creates a strong bond to the subfloor using a combination of weight and friction. Loose lay products are suitable for multi-rise developments, both residential apartments and office blocks, as no acoustic underlay is required. They are also ideal for retail spaces and temporary areas such as feature displays and exhibitions as they are quick to install, take-up and recycle. The flooring collection is also a practical solution for sectors where access to underfloor services is required such as healthcare and hospitality environments.

Karndean LooseLay was inspired by trends seen in natural wood and stone products: distressed and rustic timbers, poured concrete and travertine tiles. Featuring enhanced acoustic properties and excellent environmental credentials, Karndean loose lay products are quick and easy to install making them ideal when commercial downtime is an issue. Each plank or tile is individually replaceable, making it easy and economical to repair.
