After living in her 15-year-old Indiana home for nearly eight years, Nan Lindesmith was finally able to check a huge renovation project off her list – replacing the floors on the main level, including the kitchen and living area. “The floors were always on my wish list to update, but we avoided the hassle that it would take to tear out all of the kitchen tile,” she explained.
When Nan and her family, which includes her husband, two teenage children and dog, moved into the home, carpet was throughout the living room with ceramic tile elsewhere. “We had updated our home from painting to changing light fixtures, and most recently updated the kitchen with new countertops and backsplash.”
But it wasn’t until she discovered Karndean Designflooring that she felt confident in replacing the floors. “I found Karndean on Instagram and fell in love with the color and wide planks of Texas White Ash. I have always loved herringbone patterns and knew I wanted to incorporate that look in my home. The large planks were also so beautiful!”
Texas White Ash is one of several rigid core products that comes in both large format straight planks (RKP8105, sized 56” x 9”) and in a herringbone format (SM-RKP8105, sized 24” x 6”). Not only could Nan enjoy both size and pattern formats within her home, but the flooring could be installed directly over the existing ceramic tile.
“I was sold when I found that they could be installed over pre-existing tile without the mess of tearing it all out! How do Nan and her family enjoy living on the new flooring so far? “The luxury vinyl plank (LVP) flooring is so easy to care for, especially with kids and pets.
