Following our spotlight interview with popular style blogger, Lisa Wright, we revisit her home as she unveils her dream design - ushering in an exciting new chapter to her ultimate DIY project.
After on months of building and structural groundwork, Lisa has collaborated with GJ Gardner and local trades in Yamba, NSW adding the finishing touches to her Scandinavian inspired Yambi Scandi Collection throughout her home.
Staying true to her signature Nordic style with a light neutral palette, Lisa looked to the cool tones of Karndean’s LooseLay Athens* to complete the overall colour scheme and look for her home.
“I was searching for a white washed look floor covering to draw on the white-on-white finishes typical of Scandinavian interiors. LooseLay Athens had the crisp and cool white that visually flowed from the long corridor to the kitchen and right through the home,” explains Lisa.
“We have Karndean LooseLay in all our rooms, except for the wet areas, and we’re so glad we did. It feels wonderful underfoot.”
“We get so many comments, people often ask… What’s this floor?”
Living near the beach, the flooring needed to tick a few boxes when it came to day-to-day practicalities.
“With the beach by our doorstep and the pool and garden being put to good use, there’s a lot of traffic going in and out of the house. Knowing that our kids and dog would also give the floor a good work out, we needed a hard and durable floor covering.”
“In the end, Karndean fit the bill perfectly. It had the durability over natural wood and a surface coating to protect against fine scratches and marks – ideal in our household with all the things that get tracked in from the outdoors.”
“The floor is just beautiful. It’s also the perfect neutral backdrop for photographing statement pieces from my Yambi Scandi Collection. The practical benefits carry on throughout the house and it’s ideal for our lifestyle and climate.”
“Form, function and design - just perfect!”
