About LooseLay Longboard
Karndean LooseLay Longboard is a collection of 12 woods featuring unique designs in a 59'' long format. Its textured finish, industry-leading K-Wave Grip Backing and authentic replication of natural wood products make Karndean LooseLay Longboard a practical and attractive flooring option for any interior.
Making the most of the 59'' length, each design displays intricate details found in the original woods that inspired the collection. Native Australian wood species feature heavily in this range with Tasmanian Oak, Blackbutt and Spotted Gum all represented. European oaks and Heart Pine from the USA complete the offer to present a contemporary palette in a loose lay format.
LooseLay Longboard also retains all the features homeowners have come to expect from Karndean Designflooring with the added benefits of extra-large planks for visual impact, quick and easy installation and acoustic properties for quieter interiors.

American Woods
The new LooseLay Longboard collection features a stunning American-inspired wood plank – Weathered Heart Pine. Generally considered to be recycled timber from first-generation trees, Weathered Heart Pine has an eclectic mix of features that create a unique look that only time can produce.

The wood plank captures the open grain and man-made markings created by over a hundred years of use with a very light brush and light satin oils to bring the blended tones to life restoring the natural beauty of the American wood. Weathered Heart Pine is a true statement floor.
Tasmanian Oaks
Offering a sustainable alternative to real Tasmanian Oak sourced from remote lumber yards in South East Australia, our Bleached Tasmanian Oak showcases the straight growth rings and subtle colour variation to create the most natural replication possible.
The Bleached Tasmanian Oak offers a modern whitewashed finish to create a striking variation on the original. Our designers applied a whitewash across the whole product that also allows the original features to come through. A striking colour carrier.

Spotted Gum
Found from the mountains of the Great Dividing Range to the Sunshine Coast of Queensland, the two spotted gums Lemon Spotted Gum – reflect the natural characteristics of this rich Australian wood with its subtle spotted appearance and large amounts of sapwood that makes this product so distinctive.
A subspecies of spotted gum, Lemon Spotted Gum mirrors the finished timber with cool crisp lines and a blended finish.

European Oaks
Twilight and Raven Oak offer on-trend grey and charcoal tones for a modern look with authentic knots, lightly brushed grain details and subtly distressed finishes. Highlighting both the radial lines that run across the growth rings and the distressed areas in the wood, the original planks were lightly bushed to open up the gran with the added touch of modern tones to create truly stylish designs.

Inspired by aging French oak boards recovered from the heart of Loire Valley in Blois, Karndean’s Pearl, Champagne and French Grey Oak designs present individual interpretations of this attractive wood through the process of liming, light brushing and adding colour. Whilst the lighter tones reveal cross-sawn elements across the planks for an intriguing blend of natural and man-made features, the darker tones highlight individual knots and knarls.
