Of course, fall is the season of pumpkin spice and everything nice, but if you’re looking to shake up your décor, these trends will continue through the winter and beyond!

According to Anthropologie’s head buyer of home, Chris Sotz, curved furniture offers a fresh, feminine and more sophisticated alternative to most furniture on the market. You’ll also notice the use of velvet in these pieces, and throughout home décor as a whole, as it ups the luxury (and coziness). (source: marthastewart)

Give your décor a dreamy, yet sophisticated update by incorporating constellations and spherical planet-like shapes into your space. From constellation-like chandeliers to swirling galaxy-like surfaces, look to the sky for inspiration this season! (sources: WGSN, Livingetc.)

Wabi-Sabi

You’ve likely seen elements of this trend, but just didn’t know what it was called. Wabi-sabi stems from a Japanese philosophy that centers around authenticity and imperfection. In design, this translates to natural and organic décor that has worn over time. Scandinavian style is wabi-sabi in its own way as it is centered around natural woods. What’s new about the 2018/2019 wabi-sabi is the incorporation of natural textures, like woven baskets or terracotta vases. (sources: The Spruce, Refinery29)

Retro Color Palette

Have you noticed mustard yellow popping up on your Instagram and Pinterest feeds? In general, yellow is known for its warmth and optimism when used in home décor. Tones of golden or mustard yellow will complement other colors in your fall palette and add a bit of brightness during the winter months. It’s easily a color you can incorporate into your décor year-round.

In case you missed it, Sherwin Williams announced its 2019 color of the year, Cavern Clay, another warm, organic color, reminiscent of terracotta with a “nod to midcentury modern style.” (source: Elle Décor)
