Karndean has provided my wife and I with the perfect finishing touch to transform our bungalow, into our home! We initially discovered Karndean at the Grand Designs show in London last last year (2014) and as they say, the rest is history.
We love our Karndean floor! We chose Classic Oak laid on the diagonal with a border strip around the edge of the room and the kitchen units. With a four year old, a two year old and a newborn we needed a floor for our kitchen and family room which was easy to keep clean, was warm underfoot and could withstand anything a toddler could throw at it and our Karndean floor has not disappointed. It complements the traditional feel of our kitchen, giving the room a classic yet sophisticated feel.
My kitchen and hall were fitted in 2013. As advised I used qualified Karndean fitters who made sure that the floor was correctly prepared and did a fantastic job. Both the kitchen and hall floors still look as though they had been completed 12 days ago rather than the 12 months that have now passed. The flooring is soft and warm to the touch and underfoot, even first thing on a winter morning. It is easy to clean with just a brush or a damp cloth which is important for us as we have six grandchildren who sometimes decide that the best place for their food is on the floor!!
Karndean flooring is excellent value and I have on several occasions recommended it to my friends and family. I will shortly be purchasing more flooring from Karndean when I re-decorate my dining room.
Some friends have Karndean and I was very impressed. This flooring looks awesome with a gloss white kitchen. Very easy to keep clean even with 2 kids running in and out!! Comes with a lifetime guarantee. I'm that impressed will eventually have all down stairs done in Karndean.
I love all of my new kitchen, but the best part is the Karndean floor which I chose to provide some drama and to work well with the adjoining dining room carpet. As soon as I put the samples out on the design table in the Evesham showroom the floor I'd imagined came to life. The fitter from Newman's in Tewkesbury understood exactly what I wanted and took care positioning the tiles in relation to grain and colour. It's beautiful quality and gives us constant pleasure.
I am delighted with my Karndean flooring. We need to walk through the dining room to the kitchen and Karndean has solved the problem of constant wear on carpets. It is easy to clean and more practical than wood flooring. We have continued the flooring in the hall, cloakroom and small bedroom. I would definitely recommend it.
Quality and design that suits my 1913 cottage. Apart from it's stunning look it's easy to clean, comfortable to walk on and is everything I hoped it would be. I also love the grout strips that add to the finished effect. Superbly laid too. Very happy customer.
Having used Karndean flooring before we had no hesitation in seeking out tiles for our newly refurbished cloakroom. These were not only the most impressive looking tiles on the market in the right colour but were installed brilliantly by Nick at Amco Foooring Milton Keynes. We love our cloakroom now and it impresses most who use it.
I recently moved into a new apartment but the tiles original in the bathroom were really cold. Not to mention my bathroom looked like a doctor's surgery - not the inviting sanctuary all of the magazines talk about. Karndean LooseLay offered me the perfect solution; quick to install, beautiful to look at and warm underfoot. It's perfect. I love my floor.
I work for a well known 'food on the go' retailer and every year we try to raise as much money as we can for Children in Need. Part of that fundraising is to ask our suppliers to donate to help raise funds. Karndean is the flooring of choice for our 1600+ shops, so when asked, they kindly donated 20 square metres of their LooseLay flooring, adhesive and a cleaning kit to be auctioned off.
I am an animal lover and have several pets. I am so delighted with my Karndean floor as it is so warm, easy to clean and quiet. Here is my pet dog Tilly looking super cute on my beautiful Karndean floor. I would recommend Karndean to anyone. Thank you Karndean!
We chose the flooring to complement the industrial, contemporary styling we have chosen in our Show Home. It blends perfectly with the white gloss kitchen as well as the white brick tiles we have put in the downstairs en-suite. We choose Karndean regularly in our Show Homes due to its versatility, durability and the range of styles you have available.
We wanted a dark wood floor for our new bathroom installed in 2014. Having opted for a dark wood, high gloss product and we were devastated when it bubbled, peeled and was basically wrecked within weeks. The suite had to be removed to allow the floor to be ripped up. We managed to get a refund, and replaced the floor with Karndean Atra. We are so pleased with the durability, it is fit for purpose, not slippery and looks amazing. Thank you for rescuing our bathroom!
Hi, my name is David, I'm a design floor installer from Northern Ireland. I have over 15 years' experience in the floor covering industry working with many different products, both domestic and commercial. I cut my teeth with Karndean flooring when I was just an apprentice many years ago and fell in love with the product. The versatility of the many ranges, and feature designs still give me a lot of satisfaction and simply blow my mind from start to finish of an installation. I've met many lovely people through my working life so far and had the pleasure to fit some amazing floors both at home and as far away as a tiny island in the Caribbean! I'm looking forward to many more years fitting and meeting new people all with the love for Karndean flooring. Simply an amazing product not just for the customer, but also for us fitters. It's simply a joy to work with!
We love our new Karndean flooring. We have a kitchen/TV Lounge room and wanted the two different types of flooring to complement each other. The kitchen is a cream resin and next to the oak parquet it looks fantastic. All our family and friends have commented on what a fantastic floor it is and when we tell them it's not real wood they all bend down and touch it in disbelief. This flooring is by our bi-fold doors which come into the garen so its had grass, mud, water on it and it still looks perfect. Easy to clean and looks fab. I would recommend Karndean flooring to everyone for various different rooms in their house.
Nine years ago I went to view a house, it had Karndean throughout the downstairs. I'd never heard of it before but immediately fell in love with the design. We were sadly gazumped, but I vowed I would get Karndean one day.
Anyway, after Christmas I decided it was time to get the hall done and my first stipulation was Karndean.
On recommendation we found a fab shop that was also recommended by Karndean on their website and even better we got our carpet there, too (Phil Williams flooring Liverpool). So the Floor was chosen - Pale Limed Oak -and has been in a few days now. It has had lots of visitors who think it is fab.
Any regrets.. YES... Why didn't I get it in the front room, too (I will)! The product is so warm and looks like the quality floor it is!
After having my kitchen replaced after 30 years with a striking cream kitchen. I wanted a floor with the wow factor.
I decided on the Santi limestone with Canterbury border. It looks amazing. Everyone comments on it. It is a large kitchen and the border makes it look so special. I loved it so much had my hall done straight after with with RP91 Lorenzo warm oak with a light border. I now want the bathroom done. Well, in fact, would like the whole house done.
The product is so warm to walk on not like my old thick quarry tiles and the staff at Karndean were very helpful sending me lots of samples.
We have Karndean flooring in 2 bathrooms and the lounge and are very happy so we decided to get the kitchen done in a terracotta colour. Upon arriving home from work we noticed that it was completely the wrong colour due to the label on the sample tile being incorrect. It was black!! The flooring company gave up the option of having it ripped up or keeping it. The issue was that it looked very good, (black on a cream kitchen), so if we did have it ripped up we may not like the original as much. We have decided to keep the black tiles and are extremely happy. Only two more rooms to kit out in it now :-)
We are delighted with the flooring. We have had an extension on the kitchen with bifolding doors, taking the room into the garden. The Karndean flooring has been used from the front door right through the hall and kitchen. We are impressed with how warm it is. We did think we would need underfloor heating but are glad we didn't. The Country oak is easy to live with and enhances the light wooden kitchen units. Our 18 month old grandson loves running and playing on it. The cars go very fast!!
Following the death of my mother, I have taken on the complete renovation of the family home that my parents bought new in 1937. My very competent builder recommended Karndean flooring for my bathroom which has been totally transformed from the old two separate rooms into one unit. I am delighted with the choice from the Knight Tile range and am now in the process of choosing another Karndean floor for my new kitchen, then another later for the new cloakroom and conservatory. The local company who have fitted it were excellent and have done a precision job with an excellent product that is pleasing to look at and warm and safe to walk on. I am a pensioner myself and safety is a priority for me. Now I am showing my bathroom floor off to everyone who visits. I am enjoying developing my childhood home into a comfortable, modern house where I can look forward to many happy years there.
I have just opened a kitchen showroom in the heart of Canterbury Kent. We have fitted out the showroom floor in Weathered elm from the Opus range as we thought it would compliment all the different kitchens and different colours we have on display.
We had the floor laid in a herringbone design, my company is called Herringbone Kitchens, so we thought would be appropriate.
We could not be happier with the end result, customers love it and we have already got orders for the same floor to go into customers houses.
The floor goes really well with the different kitchens from the modern to the traditional. Having it in a herringbone design also really make it stand out and look different.
Customers love the floor not just for the look but also because it offers so much more than a tile would. Its warmer, more forgiving, easier to clean and if it was to be damage it easy to repair.
It's comfortable, low maintenace, great value, looks great and is generally really practical - especially with young children. Van Gogh Ebony is dark but really striking and I wouldnt change it for anything! Highly recommend Karndean!
The floors in my house have always been real stone tiles. I have always found this very cold to walk on early in the morning, noticeably so in the winter months. Since changing to Karndean a few years ago, there has been a marked improvement in warmth! I have Art Select Guernsey Limestone in my bathroom, which looks so authentic, and still looks as good as new. When I purchased my floor, from Gainsborough Carpets in Preston, they cleaned it for me the following day – a routine which I have followed meticulously. If all my Karndean floors last as well as they have so far then I won’t ever have to replace them, which makes what I paid for them a very reasonable price.
Converted our 4th bedroom into an en-suite bathroom. We previously had Karndean fitted in the hallway and because it looked so good we decided to go with the same product for the bathroom, just used a slightly different design. This proves how versatile Karndean is, as it looks fantastic in both rooms. Really impressed as it looks so classy whilst being hard wearing and soft to walk on.
Just put a new kitchen in then needed a new floor. Once we looked at Karndean, there was no other option. It looks superb just like someone has cut planks from an oak tree & just laid them on our floor. Having it laid in our hallway right through to the kitchen makes all the difference to our house. It has been in a couple of months now & still looks brand new. The bevelled edges on the Oak planks really look stunning when the whole floor was laid.
It is so easy to clean & look after.
Karndean looks really impressive in the hallway of our Edwardian home. The fitter Liam from Southport Flooring did a great job with the curved strips around the bullnose at the bottom of the stairs. I would recommend it for it's durability, great designs and warmth. It looked so good we decided to go with the same product for the bathroom, we just used a slightly different design. Karndean is really versatile as it looks fantastic in both rooms.
At Whitby Holiday Home.com we established our luxury family self catering business in 2011, with our Whitby Pad apartment being the very first property we offered to guests. We wanted the apartment to be luxury but child friendly, so thought carefully about the kind of flooring we should use.
We discounted carpets as an option straight away as we wanted a cohesive look throughout the apartment and so needed something practical enough to go under a dining table. We seriously considered solid wood floors, but were worried about causing too much noise for the apartment below. Karndean's high quality vinyl seemed the perfect solution. Easy to clean, with the stunning look of wood; but much warmer and quieter under foot.
Three years on, it still looks perfect and has lived up to the rigours of holiday guests. We are currently renovating our third apartment in preparation for holiday guests and plan to use one of the stunning Karndean Parquet products throughout.
We had our first Karndean floor installed in 1999, we have it in four other rooms now and it is being installed today in our new kitchen. Whilst it seems expensive at the time, over the years it still looks great and represents excellent value for money I would not hesitate to recommend.
We love our Karndean floors! We have ended up with it in every room downstairs. We chose the Shannon Oak planks, laid diagonally, with a border strip around the edge of the rooms, and in the kitchen we have the Atlantic Slate tiles. We started by replacing the carpet in the hallway, which we had struggled to keep looking clean & fresh - and fell in love with how lovely and realistic the Karndean looked. We soon replaced the carpet in the lounge with the same design, and then the following year we did the dining room too. Recently, we replaced the lino in the kitchen for the Atlantic Slate tiles, which I just love. I feel that it makes the rooms look larger, and it's such a classic design it will last us for years and years, regardless of how we decide to redecorate in future - which when you work it out, means it was actually very good value for money. It's surprisingly warm underfoot, and certainly withstands anything our son or the pets drop on it! It is so easy to keep clean, that's one of the biggest improvements for me. We would happily recommend Karndean to anyone!
Previously we had our hallway covered partly in Amtico and partly in carpet. We decided to change this and our dining room all to Karndean Van Gogh Aukland Oak. What a huge difference this has made in modernising the look of these areas and it has even increased the apparent size of the rooms. Even our fitters were amazed at the transformation and they've seen it all before. We are now looking at enjoying our new Karndean flooring for many years to come. After seeing ours floors now our neighbours have already been making enquiries as to installing your products.
We've got karndean American oak in the hall already, it's been down 8 years now and has been so enduring. So having created an open plan kitchen/dining space the only choice for us was Karndean flooring again because we wanted to create the realism of a stone floor, but with warmth underfoot safe in the knowledge that it would be a sound investment. The final result in Portland stone looks stunning. It's so durable, easy to maintain and provides the "wow" factor to the overall project.
Our Karndean floor in our kitchen means family time. It was fitted as the final part of a Grand Designs extension that saw our house without a kitchen for 18 months. As a family we were dispersed! After builders, plasterers, electricians, heating engineers, decorators, glazers and carpenters, the relief when the flooring contractor arrived was immense.
So now the work is over and the floor is down we have a room that together we can all enjoy; share stories of the day and like any modern family spend the majority of the evening glued to a screen or another!
However, once the floor was laid the final icing on the cake for the family arrived, she was an 8 week puppy called Lottie.
We selected Summer Oak from just a sample and are extremely delighted now we have seen it across a large area. The bigger planking is very effective. It looks modern and fresh in daylight and warm and inviting in the evening. The texture gives it a vitality not expected and makes it hardly distinguishable from the real thing.
We've also underfloor heating which works superbly well and is ideal for those winter mornings. Everyone loves it when they visit.
And back to the dog; she's put the floor through its paces in one way or another but it's taken everything she can throw at it literally. She's now growing up, a big part of the family and bringing no end of stuff in from the garden including mud, rocks, plants and a passion for chewing branches to a fine saw dust.
However, whatever she does we have no worries as the floor is always easily swept and cleaned!
My floor provides extra comfort on those cold mornings when you put your bare feet on the floor and when normally the floor is freezing cold, this isn't. Along with the great look and feel of the product you instantly get the feeling you are walking on a real wooden floor. I've had friends and family who all think I've had real wooden floors put in throughout my house and every time I have to lift their jaws from off the ground when I tell them that it is actually vinyl.
We used to have white ceramic tiles in our kitchen, which we loved at first, but over time they started to chip and crack and they were also a worry with small grandchildren in the house - I was always paranoid about them slipping or falling and hitting their heads on the hard floor. We also have an Irish Wolfhound who loves to knock his water dish all over the floor and needed a floor that we could easily mop up - and not have to worry about water damage.
I wanted when people enter my house to be wowed with a great first impression. With the parquet feature in my hall, I have a feature that immediately grabs peoples' attention when they walk through the door and for first-time viewers they always comment on how great the floor is.
We're not able to clean our floor all the time and it's great that our floor looks good and is easy to look after. A quick run with the mop and our floor looks as good as the day it was fitted which takes a great strain off us.
