Karndean Designflooring goes back to basics with the Material Lab at 100% Design 2013

It's time to put a date in your diary for September. Following on from last year's success, we're returning to 100% Design on the Material Lab Pavilion Stand, 18th to 21st September at Earls Court, London.

The fundamental surface ‘toolkit' - the materials that every interior designer can’t live without - will be seen in a new light at 100% Design when Material Lab (in conjunction with Here You Are Studio) go back to the basics.

We'll be displaying our latest product collections with a focus on our latest innovation, Karndean LooseLay.  In collaboration with Johnson Tiles, Formica, Tektura Wallcoverings and Modulyss, the Material Lab stand (E360) will feature a unique deconstructed interior environment showcasing essential surfaces in their natural light.

Jim Biddulph, Projects and Materials Manager at Material Lab, said: “No gimmicks, no tricks, no displays. At our Pavilion stand this year you’ll just find beautiful, stunning surface products, which are truly at the heart of interior design. The simplistic form of our showcase this year will give a new dimension to products, which will help visitors to see these everyday items in a new way.”

Elsewhere, Material Lab and Here You Are Studio have designed a separate Material Atelier hub in the Eco, Design & Build zone of 100% Design. It’s a creative workshop area featuring workbenches and vibrant open spaces – mirroring the actual Material Lab studio in London and allowing visitors to explore, create and learn about the different materials on display. Material Lab’s experts will also be on hand to share their knowledge about materials and surfaces, encouraging inspiration and innovation.

Jim Biddulph added: “Materials need to not only be looked at but felt, mixed together and played with in order to really understand them fully and expand the potential of how they can be used. Our Material Atelier hub will be a truly tactile space where we want people to be free to get totally hands-on. The workshop design and layout, which will change every day, is designed to encourage creativity in a space where you naturally feel able to explore and learn.”

So mark it down: September 18th - 22nd, stand E360, 100% Design at Earls Court, London. Looking forward to seeing you there!
