Karndean Designflooring awards Clerkenwell Design Week competition winner summary
Leading experts in beautifully realistic wood and stone effect luxury flooring, Karndean Designflooring showcased their Opus collection within an installation at the unique Order of St. John Church exhibition during Clerkenwell Design Week 2012.
During the week, Karndean Designflooring ran a competition, asking visitors to say which material surface inspires them and entered their details into a prize draw. The lucky winner, selected at random, was Celine Switzeny, Interior Designer at Bisset Adams, who won a meal for four people at The Zetter Hotel’s, Bistrot Bruno Loubet.
Celine comments: “It’s always nice to go to Clerkenwell Design Week and although I didn’t get to see as much of it as I had hoped, I really enjoyed seeing the different installations.
“The Order of St. John exhibition was really interesting, with many different companies displaying different furniture ideas. I entered the Karndean Designflooring competition, answering the question ‘what surface inspires you?’ with wood and glass.
“I always try to use wood and I am very influenced by it, as it is a timeless material which can be used to create both modern and classic looks, such is its versatility.
“I also chose glass, as I enjoy the transparency of the material.”
Andrew Wilcock, Commercial Marketing Manager, Karndean Designflooring , said: “Clerkenwell Design Week 2012 was a really interesting event for us this year and we were very pleased by the response to our competition.
There were many different entries citing various materials as an inspiration but we certainly agree with Celine’s choice of wood, as half of our product collections are inspired by the natural beauty, tones and textures of wood.”
