Isabel Hospice looks to Karndean to complete its new Hatfield shop
We’ve helped save vital funds for a charity which provides free palliative care for adults with life-limiting illnesses by providing a free floor to complete its latest Hatfield shop.
Supporting adults in eastern Hertfordshire, Isabel Hospice was selected as a winner of our ’40 Free Floors for 40 Good Causes’ appeal to receive a free floor up to 150 sq meters, from nominations received via Facebook.
Launched as part of our own 40th anniversary celebrations, we’ve not only helped transform Isabel Hospice’s new Hatfield shop with flooring throughout, we’ve also saved the charity more than £5,000, which can now be used to pay for 33 home visits by Isabel’s Clinical Nursing team.
Joining forces with our local commercial flooring partner, Hertfordshire based Broxbourne Flooring Ltd, we recommended our Van Gogh ‘Walnut’ flooring as the perfect solution to cater for the heavy footfall predicted in this retail space.
“The flooring brings an extra dimension to our newest charity shop in Hatfield,” commented Matt Seccombe, director of trading at Isabel Hospice.
He said: “It had to be hardwearing due to the large footfall, but also look stylish, really lifting the look of the shop. We are delighted with the finished floor, and very grateful to Karndean for doing such a great job and helping us save vital funds.
“What’s more, being so durable and easy to clean it means our store will look great for longer, so our staff can spend more time raising money by selling our charity goods, rather than having to worry about scuffs and wear.”
We launched our ’40 Free Floors for 40 Good Causes’ appeal in October 2013 in a bid to help local charities and organisations in the USA, UK, Australia and New Zealand. Our international appeal calls on the public to nominate individuals, families, businesses and other worthy causes that they think deserve to win a free Karndean floor.
Paul Barratt, managing director of Karndean Designflooring UK said: “Isabel Hospice is a fantastic example of how we’ve been able to use our appeal to step in and help save vital funds for good causes.
“The new shop looks fantastic and with its new Karndean floor in place to attract the attention of customers, we’re sure the shop is going to raise lots of money to support the vital care provided within the community.”
