Rigid core is the answer to uneven subfloors

Posted on the 19/11/2019 by Karndean Designflooring

At this time of year many people are looking to update their flooring. For residential customers, this may be prompted by the prospect of additional visitors over the festive season while commercial customers may be looking to undertake redecoration whilst business is relatively quiet and staff are taking holiday.

There are many reasons why a subfloor could be uneven, restricting the options for a quick and easy new look. A concrete subfloor may be slightly imperfect or there may be existing floorboards, parquet, stone or ceramic tiles. In an ideal world, any uneven flooring would be removed and a new smooth subfloor laid. However, this can add significant delays to an installation, an inconvenience that both residential and commercial clients will be keen to avoid.

Where subfloor imperfections are minor our Korlok range may be the ideal flooring solution. Combining realistic wood designs with cutting edge technology, Korlok features a rigid core construction with 6.5mm thickness and can be laid over any sound, clean floor as long as the unevenness is less than 5mm below the level in any 3m diameter.

Thanks to our innovative K-Core technology, our rigid core products can be quickly and easily installed over most existing hard surfaces. Installed without the need for extensive subfloor preparation or adhesive and with an easy fit 5G click-locking mechanism, recommending Korlok to your customers can give a stylish result with reduced downtime and expense.

Like all our floors, our Korlok range comes with the benefits of being waterproof, hard wearing and easy to maintain and so is suitable for both residential and commercial settings. Conveniently, Korlok also has excellent acoustic properties with a pre-attached acoustic backing to reduce noise transfer to rooms below by 19dB, making it the ideal choice for upstairs rooms, multi-level apartments and office blocks.
